We delete blood cancer

The DKMS Foundation is an international non-profit organisation that works to fight blood cancer. For 25 years we have been working so that people all over the world diagnosed with one of these diseases, such as leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma, will have a second chance. That’s why our work in Spain focuses on patients, pouring all our efforts into helping them to overcome the disease.

Did you know that in Spain...

A new case of blood cancer is diagnosed every 35 minutes

Only one in every four patients finds a matching donor within the family circle

Most of them, around 1,050 patients every year, urgently need a selfless donor to give them a second chance

Blood cancer

Every year, around 15,000 people in Spain are diagnosed with one of the main types of blood cancer. Specifically, around 5,200 are diagnosed with leukaemia, 7,300 with lymphoma and 2,400 with multiple myeloma.

Transplants

For many patients, the only hope for surviving blood cancer is a bone marrow transplant. However, only 25% of patients find a match in their family circle. The remainder need someone who selflessly wants to help others. You may be the only hope for many patients!

Helping patients

The DKMS Foundation works tirelessly to improve the quality of life of patients suffering from blood cancer and their families.
